How to play

Omok (오목, also known as Gomoku) is played on the 15 × 15 lines of a Go board. Black moves first, then the players take turns placing one stone on any empty intersection. Stones are never moved or removed. The first player to get five stones in an unbroken line, across, down or diagonally, wins. If the board fills up first, the game is a draw.

Black has five on the diagonal and wins.

Freestyle

No restrictions for either side: five or more in a row wins. This is how most people play casually. It favors Black a lot; with perfect play Black always wins.

Renju

Renju keeps the board and the goal but restricts Black to even out the first-move advantage.

3-3: ✕ would make two open threes.
4-4: ✕ would make two fours. Blocked fours count too.
Overline: ✕ would make six in a row.

Terms

Not implemented: tournament opening rules (Soosõrv-8, Taraguchi and others) and the official penalty for a forbidden move, which is losing the game. Here the opening is free and forbidden points simply can't be played.
